Thank you for such great videos! I’m finally daring to make a career change into scuba diving and will be moving to Playa del Carmen in December. You have such a great way of communicating and inspiring others like me, so keep it up! Greetings from México, Marcel.
You are doing a great job, you got me back to diving safely after 18 years break, I did all the exercises easily without panicking and was back diving comfortably after the refresher! Thanks again!
That is great to hear Mario!! 🤩
Ohhh God,how much I miss teach scuba, Did it for 30 years, and I want to come back as soon as possible
Yes get back to it! :)
Hello! I’m a professional singer and I want to learn to scuba dive to swim with giant manta rays! Bucket list experience for me. I naturally have a very shallow breathing pattern, in professional athletic singing we hold our breaths or take in little air for long periods of time when performing - I’ve trained for more than 20 years so this is second nature to me. Do you know of any breathing exercises for shallow breathers? Should I practice by blocking my nose and learning to mouth breathe - maybe add some aerobic exercise? Any and all help very welcome! Thank you 😃
Hi, most important is to never hold your breath while scuba diving, but slow breathing is ok.
@@MarcelVanDenBerg1 that’s excellent news. Do you know if a dry suit would be good for people who tend to feel the cold?
Former rescue diver: great skills to have. Later on, became a RN in ICU. Get all the skills you can. Get in a lot of recreational dives as well. WE did Rescue dives, search and recovery, dove the ocean in Maine, Hawaii, Florida, California, New York, dove in Rivers, Lakes, ponds, Night dives, Ice dives and so on. Get a lot of recreational dives in so you are as comfortable underwater as you are on land.. and listen to your instructors...
Thanks for the tips!
Best video example for students
Thanks!!
dont drag reg
Thanks for letting me know
Excellent, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
ScubaPro is the worst diving mask I ever tried in my 40 years of diving experience. Easily water gets in and getting fogged after some seconds! And you can scratch easily the T Glass from the inside for not known reasons.
Scuba dive instructor is like any other job, it depends who you work for. Think about chef or barber, lots are earning very low money and others can earn tons of money. It's possible to earn 12k a month as a fix salary, again it depends who you work for. Obviously you need to work your way up there, but it is possible.
Yes exactly
Bonjour Excellente vidéo pour les débutants et les personnes qui veulent replonger après une longue coupure Je recommande

Nasa.gov mission we need this my baby astronauts
This helped me so much after I took the exam, but before I went to do the in water exercises. Thank you! My OCD makes me need to ad, tho: the right term is *venomous* in those cases.
haha ok thanks for letting me know, yeah some words where said bad as I am Dutch :) Thank you for liking the video
This has been so helpful, you’re a great teacher, thank you
Thank you for letting me know, made my day 🤙
Great video, thank you for the detailed information!
Glad you like it!
Great video. Suggestion: Dont put hand in front of valve when testing on and off. High pressure air can be dangerous to skin.
That is why I open it slowly, but sure you can also just not use your hand at all :)
Ty
You're welcome
you forgot to smell the air after checking the o-ring & give it a burst. And the safetyleash should go over at the same time you put the bcd on the tank.
I smell the air later using my regulator, just style difference. Same as the safety strap you can do it same time or later depending in the BCD model.
👌👌👌😎
Thanks!
I became a new diver recently and I reference this video before every dive just to stay savvy and keep my dives focused on fun. Thank you so much for this.
Thank you so much for this super thanks, it helps the channel a lot! 🙏
I had to reschedule my dive certification today because I was unable to equalize my right ear. Wish I saw this video before today. I was trying the first method during my dive, but that did not work for me. While watching the tutorial, I tried the third method and I believe that is the best fit for me. The third method cleared my right ear, which was still kinda blocked. Thank you.
You are very welcome 😌
I don’t have the opportunity to dive very frequently, but every time I go on a trip I come back to this video for the in-depth and easy to follow refresher. Would give it a like every time if I could!
What a great video! Thank you so much for sharing this. I've been away from diving quite a long time, and this is great refresher info. Thanks!
I still don’t get how we get out the water from the mask through nose when most of the water is in the mask not in the nose .. plus if you open a bit lower part of the mask the water shouldn’t fill mask even more ? 🫣
Looking up makes the water sit at the bottom of the mask, to your face. So the air pocket is at the top. Then by breathing out you’re filling up the mask with air pushing the water out. If you would try it while looking down it wouldn’t work or if you tried to hold the bottom of the mask and blowing through you nose than it would fill up more
So is your nose open at all
Exactly what I learned! Thank you so much!
Such a helpfull Video during my DM and IDC. Thank you Marcel for all the energy u Put in these Videos and also in all your Students. 👌🤙
Hmm breathe in through your mouth underwater to clearn your mask. Never thought of that one before. Gonna try that next time and let yall know how it goes.
That's why divers use o2 cylinders
After many years I see you.
Divers look arrogant until they get panic n drown lol
What a weird comment
Is an envious non Diver comment 😂
Good job Marcel😊
Thanks so much for this great refresher! Appreciate it a lot
Im starting to study for diving and having this video really helps me progress my book faster and really reassuring to have all questions answered , keep up the great work sir 😊

Is there an audio file for this video by chance? I would like to listen to it while driving. Thanks for all of your videos
I have a license for open water diving, and tomorrow I'm going to dive again after 4 years of not doing so. This really helps to refresh my memory. Thank you
I love how you easily explained all the concepts! Thank you so much for providing confidence to us divers.
Disgusting that this demo is given by a course director whilst on his knees. Figure out your buoyancy bud. It's no wonder such poor instructors are getting churned out daily if they are being taught like this.
Wow! That looks like so much fun.
